To develop the child holistically under the CAMPS domains by inculcating the school’s values through active participation in physically and healthy activities.
Overview
The PE Programme aims to develop students’ psychomotor and games skills, equip them with the knowledge, and attitudes to pursue and enjoy a physically active and healthy lifestyle.
Students develop and maintain physical health and fitness through regular participation in physical activities and acquire safe practices during physical activities. They also demonstrate the spirit of fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Approach
Teachers adopt Experiential Learning pedagogy in the teaching of PE. Teachers also use Movement Education to encourage the learning of basic and generic skills such as fundamental movement skills, dance and gymnastics. Through Movement Education, the students learn through experiences and construct their own understanding, instead of being told. In addition, they acquire a variety of manipulative skill sets required for gameplay through engaging activities and modified games.
Stuednts’ physical abilities are further developed through play in modified games settings. The Games Concept Approach (GCA) pedagogy is used to teach performance skills and tactics in modified games. As students play and experience authentic problem-solving situations, they get to be fully engaged in physical, cognitive and social challenges that promote their holistic learning.

Sports Day
In EDP, we have two separate Sports Days to provide greater opportunity for more students to participate actively in the various sporting events. The events and games are also customized to the meet to the different abilities and needs of the Lower Primary and Upper Primary students.
SwimSafer 2.0 Programme
SwimSafer 2.0 programme is a national water safety program developed to raise the standard of swimming proficiency in Singapore. This program will help evolve your child from a non-swimmer into a good swimmer. In EDP, all students in Primary 3 are strongly encouraged to participate in the programme. Sports Enrichment Programmes for Primary 4 and Primary 5 (SEP)
The SEP aims to advocate the importance of sports education, encourage sports participation and increase sporting opportunities for the students. Sports programmes under SEP should cater for development of skills and sports knowledge of students and help promote active participation of sports in schools. These programmes promote team spirit and character building, and arouse interest in continual sports participation amongst students.
Primary 5 Camp Resilience
Upper primary years are important years to increase the confidence and self-belief of the students. The aim of the camp is also to allow the teachers and students to build strong relationships and promote class bonding through its activities.

Health Education
In promoting holistic health, our students are provided with a wide variety of interesting and engaging Health Education programmes. These programmes are aimed to equip our students with relevant skills and enable them to make responsible decisions in taking charge of their health. Some of these programmes include:
– Apple Day / Fruit Day, a day where students and staff get free apple or fruit to encourage having fruits as healthy snacks
– Health Assembly Progamme, a regular Health programme to remind students of healthy eating
– Blood Pressure Awareness Programme for P5 students to raise awareness on the importance of monitoring their own blood pressure.
– Our students are allowed to bring a blood pressure monitoring kit home to help take the blood pressure of their family members.
– Dental Talk by our school Dental Therapist on good oral hygiene for P1,P3 & P5 students.
– Temperature-taking exercises to remind on safeguarding individual health and social responsibility.
Play@Recess
During the respective recesses, sports equipment are made available for our students to play in a supervised environment as part of the Play@Recess programme. Students are encouraged to make new friends from other classes, share the equipment and play together. Play@ Recess allows our students to further enhance their SEL competencies.
